A “collapse” of Nigeria’s energy system that occurred on Monday afternoon has left several states in the country without electricity in what is the fifth blackout suffered so far this year in which energy prices have increased considerably, which has led to numerous protests.
“The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) wishes to inform its esteemed customers of a general system collapse which occurred at 6.48 pm (local) today, October 14, 2024. This has resulted in loss of supply which is currently being experienced throughout the EEDC network,” the company reported in a statement shared on its X social network account.
In this sense, he explained that at the moment they cannot “provide services” to their clients in the states of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo. “We are awaiting detailed information on the collapse and restoration of supply from the National Control Center (NCC), Osogbo,” he added.
