CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A new business park is now officially part of the city’s Unified Development Code.

The Cheyenne City Council approved an ordinance Monday night establishing a Business Park Zone District. The district will allow for a variety of civic, service, commercial and industrial uses.

The purpose of the new district is “to provide flexibility and encourage a variety of uses in large-scale business parks, and to update several locations where zoning is referenced to include newly created zoning districts,” according to the ordinance. Data centers, community sports fields, stadiums, entertainment facilities, retail stores and medical centers are just some of the facilities that are allowed to operate within the new district.

Councilors initially held a work session in August to discuss the logistics of creating the zonal district. The resolution went to the council for a second reading September 23The city’s Public Utilities Committee then reviewed the amendments at its Oct. 8 meeting.
