The latest Ukrainian attacks against the Russian region of Belgorod leave at least one dead and eleven injured

One person has died and 11 others have been injureds during the past day in Ukrainian attacks against the Russian region of Belgorodbordering Ukraine, reported today the governor of that entity of the Russian Federation, Viacheslav Gladkov.

“Yesterday 11 people were injured and, as a result of the bombing by the Ukrainian Armed ForcesUnfortunately for us, one person died,” the governor said in a video posted on his Telegram channel.

He added that the authorities continue working to guarantee the safety of the population and pointed out that in the entity more than 6,000 devices have been installed that automatically open building doors when air raid alarms are activated so that citizens who are on the street can take refuge.

Belgorod region suffers almost daily drone attacks and artillery bombardments from Ukraineforcing its authorities to evacuate tens of thousands of people from the border territories.

With an area of ​​27,100 square kilometers, it shares a 540-kilometer border with Ukraine, and is a neighbor of the Kursk region, part of which was invaded by Ukrainian troops on August 6.

Russia has since launched three big counterattacks -in August, September and on the 10th- to try to liberate the territory occupied by Ukrainian forces.
