Dissident Ponomarev attributes the attack that killed Dugina to an armed anti-Putin group

A former member of the Russian Duma, dissident Ilya Ponomarevwho was expelled for activities against the Kremlin, said this Sunday that Russian partisans are behind the car bomb that killed the daughter of Alexander Duguin, one of the close political allies of Vladimir Putinon the outskirts of Moscow.

From kyiv, where Ponomarev is based, the Russian dissident explained that the explosion on Saturday night was the work of the Republican National Armyan underground group that worked inside Russia and is dedicated to overthrowing the Putin regime.

“This action, like many other partisan actions carried out on the territory of Russia in recent months, was carried out by the National Republican Army (NRA),” Ponomarev said in a statement. a television channel opposed to Putin which he launched from kyiv earlier this year.

“A momentous event took place near Moscow last night. This attack opens a new page on russian resistance to putinism. New, but not the latest,” he added.

The blast has killed Darya Dugina, the 30-year-old daughter of Russian nationalist leader and far-right ideologue Alexander Dugin, who had been sanctioned by the UK and US for acting to destabilize Ukraine.

Ponomarev has claimed that supporters inside Russia were ready to carry out more similar attacks against high-profile Kremlin-linked targets, including officials, oligarchs and members of Russia’s security agencies.

“We declare to President Putin usurper of power and war criminal that changed the constitution, unleashed a fratricidal war between the Slavic peoples and sent Russian soldiers to certain senseless death,” Ponomarev said.

“Poverty and coffins for some, palaces for others: the essence of his policy. We believe that oppressed people have the right to rebel against tyrants. Putin will be deposed and destroyed by us!” she added.

Ponomarjov was the only member of the Russian parliament to vote against Russia’s annexation of the Crimean peninsula in 2014.

In his statements on his YouTube and Telegram channels, the Ukraine-based dissident has described Dugina as a “legitimate target” and a “faithful companion” of his father. “She was a voice calling for violence and murder in the Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine“, he stated.
