Although the first to arrive will be the recently announced AMD Instinct MI325X, AMD is already preparing the launch of its older sisters, the Instinct M350.
These new GPUS will make an important architectural leap, going from the current AMD CDNA 3 on which the MI325X is based, until the new CDNA 4 next generation. This represents a leap in the manufacturing process as well, adopting the 3 nanometer node. In addition, native support for FP4 and FP6 data types will also be added to the GPU itself.
The platform AMD Instinct MI355X will integrate eight of these GPUs with up to 2.3 TB of HBM3E memory with 64 TB/s of bandwidth and up to 18.5 PETAFLOPS of performance at FP16. The figure will reach 74 PFLOPS in FP4.
Although we already knew the existence of the MI350 and these details since Computex 2024, the company has also made the arrival of its successors a little more specific, the AMD Instinct MI400 Series with a new generation architecture after CDNA 4.
This line of GPUS has become, in the company’s own words, the products that have evolved the fastest in its history.
