Lubbock Symphony Launches Pre-Concert Series Featuring Local Musicians

The Lubbock Symphony has announced the launch of a pre-concert series featuring local musicians ahead of select Symphony Masterworks concerts.

Made possible through support from the CH Foundation, the Helen Jones Foundation and Civic Lubbock, Inc., this series celebrates the diverse musical talent in Lubbock while offering concertgoers a unique opportunity to experience two performances for the price of one , according to a press release from the Symphony.

The series will begin with Boots & Brahms, featuring the Hannah Jackson Band, on Saturday, November 16 at 5:30 pm at The Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts & Sciences. The pre-concert performance will take place just before Masterworks’ highly anticipated performance, A Night of Brahms, featuring guest violinist William Hagen. With one ticket, audiences will enjoy a country music set and orchestral performance with a world-renowned guest artist.

“We are excited to showcase local artists while providing added value to our audiences,” said Galen Wixson, president and CEO of the Lubbock Symphony. “Our pre-concert series offers music lovers the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of performances, enriching the overall Symphony experience.”

Following Boots & Brahms in November, the next pre-concert performance will take place on March 8, 2025, before Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto at The Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts & Sciences.

Individual tickets for these events start at $25 and are available now at lubbocksymphony.org or by calling (806) 762-1688.
