In order to fulfill the commitments agreed upon last July at a working table developed with authorities and representatives of different sectors of the department of Nariño by the Minister of Transportation, María Constanza García Alicastro, the president of the National Infrastructure Agency (ANI), Francisco Ospina Ramírez and in joint work with the governor of Nariño, Luis Alfonso Escobar, the agreement was signed to begin the preparation of studies for the construction of the second road between Catambuco and Pasto.

This progress occurs after several work tables held with the Concessionaire and the Audit Office in which It was agreed to carry out an analysis of alternatives for this second carriageway with the purpose of choosing the best layout option. once aspects such as the least property damage, networks installed in the area, possible new structures to be designed, identification of communities in the sector, among others, are identified.

Subsequently, the National Environmental License Authority -ANLA- will be consulted about the required environmental procedure and finally This alternative will be taken to final designs. It is estimated that the route will be defined and environmental consultations will begin in approximately 4 months.
With these efforts, inputs will be obtained to advance with the materialization of this essential project for the Nariño region.
