Martín Gamero Prieto, a computer scientist whom we at EOL know as @KAISER-77, has presented The Legacy of Nvidia and ATI, the book on graphics cards with which he completes the tetralogy that began with The Legacy of 3dfx. It was later followed by The Legacy of the Forgotten and The Disappeared Legacy. This time there is no Kickstarter campaign, and the book can be purchased from the Kentinel Studios website and on Amazon. The shipment of the copies is scheduled for December 15.

“In this volume, the author delves into the stories of the only two companies that survived the ‘Great Graphics Purge’ of the 1990s, from their first setbacks until 2005, when ATI was acquired by AMD,” says the press release. . “The book vindicates the trajectory of both companies, revealing unknown data and showing the path they took to achieve current relevance.”

The legacy of Nvidia and ATI also addresses other aspects of these companies, including their foray into consoles, the leap into the mobile and professional market, and the graphics cards with which they attempted to eliminate the competition.
