Many followers of the Japanese company are waiting for the next Nintendo Switch 2 console, despite rumors of a delay, but what they have announced is, possibly, one of the things we could least expect.

Under the name of Nintendo Alarm, The company has launched a curious alarm clock with a 2.8-inch screen and a design that cannot hide that it is inspired by the world of Mario video games.

Alarm allows the selection of scenes from typical Nintendo video games so that, at the defined time, the alarm sounds, showing different animations, music and sound effects to wake up the “lucky” owner of the device. There are a total of 35 alarms with five different themes from five games (Super Mario Odyssey, Pikmin 4, Ring Fit Adventure, The Legend of Zelda Breath of The Wild and Splatoon), although users will be able to download new alarms for games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or Animal Crossing.

In fact, it is capable of monitor user movements and see if he is waking up by moving his arms or if he turns over to laze around. Depending on that, it will sound louder or slower for unhinge wake up the owner. Once you get up, the alarm will automatically stop ringing.

It also shows motion detection statistics, to see how much the user moves, or how long it takes to get up.

Alarmo will only be sold to subscribers of the Nintendo Switch Online paid service. Those who do not have a payment account for the service will have to wait until mid-January 2025 when it will be released for sale to other consumers. It will arrive this week at the Nintendo Online store, although they have not yet revealed its price in Spain, in the US it is around $100.
