It has been filtered in the GeekBench benchmark the results of the MSI laptop Katana 15 B2RVEK with the processor Intel Core 250H. Although it may look like a new processor, It is really a “rehash” or rebranding of the 13th generation Intel Raptor Lake processors.
Specifically, its 14 cores distributed in 6 P-Cores and 8-E cores for a total of 20 threads are the same as those offered by the Intel Core i7-13800H and, in fact, in the benchmark result itself you can read that it belongs to the Raptor Lake family for laptops.
There doesn’t seem to be any difference in speeds, since The leaked Intel Core 7 250H also reaches the same 5.2 GHz Boost with a base frequency of 2.5 GHz on the P-Cores.
This name change will not bring anything new and will be nothing more than a controversial marketing strategy, we assume that so that users think that they are buying a computer with new processors despite being from two generations ago. It is not a new strategy and we have seen it in more companies (AMD itself did it when it changed the nomenclature of its CPUs), but it is still a somewhat deceptive to name a product.
They will be Intel Core processors Ultra 200H and 200HX those who do make the leap to the new architecture Arrow Lake.
