( Spanish) –– Emergency bodies are searching this Monday for possible victims after a landslide that occurred in a port under construction in Porto da Terra Preta, in Manacapuru, in the Brazilian state of Amazonas, according to the state-run Agencia Brasil.
The local City Council, cited by the agency, reported that emergency personnel, firefighters and Civil Defense were already in the area working to evaluate the situation.
“There are supposedly victims, but so far nothing has been confirmed,” the Amazonas Civil Defense told Brasil, a affiliate.
Meanwhile, the Amazonas Firefighters told the television station that, if necessary, a diving team will be sent to reinforce the search efforts.
