At least twelve dead and 25 injured in an Israeli bombing of a refugee camp in Gaza

MADRID 8 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

At least twelve people have died and 25 more have been injured in an Israeli bombardment against the Bureij refugee camp, in the center of the Gaza Strip, within the framework of the offensive unleashed by Israel against the enclave following the attacks executed on October 7, 2023, exactly one year ago, by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other Palestinian factions.

The Israeli Army has attacked a house located in the aforementioned refugee camp, killing nine Palestinians and causing injuries of varying degrees to 25 more, although search and rescue operations continue because there are people under the rubble, so the balance could increase.

In addition, Israeli forces have also attacked tents for displaced people in Bureij, where at least three people have died. The injured, whose number is currently unknown, have been transferred to Al Awda hospital in the Nuseirat refugee camp.

On the other hand, another person has died in a bomb attack aimed at a mosque in the south of the Palestinian enclave, specifically in the Khirbet al Adas area, which is north of the city of Rafah, according to the news agency. Palestinian WAFA. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have not commented on the matter so far.

The Israeli Army launched an offensive against Gaza after the aforementioned attacks on October 7, 2023, which left nearly 1,200 dead and about 250 kidnapped. Since then, Gazan authorities have reported more than 41,900 Palestinian deaths in the enclave, in addition to more than 720 Palestinian deaths at the hands of Israeli security forces and in attacks by settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since that date.
