Russian air defense intercepts ten Ukrainian drones over Belgorod, Voronezh and Kursk regions

The air defense forces of the Russian Army have “intercepted and destroyed” ten drones of Ukrainian origin over the regions of Belgorod, Voronezh and Kursk during the early hours of Saturday, the country’s authorities have reported.

“Tonight, when the kyiv regime attempted to carry out a terrorist attack using unmanned aerial vehicles against targets on the territory of the Russian Federation, ten Ukrainian-type unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed and intercepted by security systems. air defense in service,” the Russian Ministry of Defense reported in a publication on its Telegram channel.

The authorities have clarified in the same message that seven of these drones have been neutralized over the territory of the Belgorod region, while another two have been destroyed in the Kursk region and the last one, over Voronezh.

At the moment, Defense has not recorded any victims or material damage as a result of these attacks, which have been notified after the local authorities of Voronezh reported that at least one civilian had been injured as a result of an attack with Ukrainian drones.

These attacks come after a person in charge of the security apparatus that controls the Ukrainian nuclear power plant in Zaporizhia, under Russian control, died this Friday due to the explosion of a sticky bomb in the underbody of his vehicle, as announced by the Committee of Russia investigation, which has begun a large-scale operation to find those responsible.

The war in Ukraine broke out at the end of February 2022, when President Putin gave the order to invade his neighboring country. Since then the conflict has progressed without interruption and both sides seem settled on the borders marked during the first months after the Russian advance in the east.
