MSI already launched last week the new BIOS for motherboards with Intel chipsets for the Intel Core Raptor Lake and Raptor Lake Refresh processors, or in other words, the 13th and 14th generation Intel Core. These BIOSes were equipped with the umpteenth microcode (0x12B) from Intel to try to solve the stability and degradation problem that affects its processors and, in principle, it is the last version that will be released.
Now joins Gigabyte also launching its own version of the BIOS for your Z790 motherboards with the mentioned microcode 0x12B.
It seems that the company has taken Intel’s statement literally, and in their website points This is the final update to mitigate the “Vmin Shift” problem that has caused so many headaches for users of these 13th and 14th generation Intel Core desktop processors.
This microcode also includes the two previous microcode updates with which Intel attempted to fix the problem without success (only partially). Specifically, we are referring to 0x125 and 0x129, which corrected the high voltages required by the processor and the eTVB algorithm.
The BIOS can now be downloaded in the download section of each motherboard on the Gigabyte website.
