Netherlands will use "military resources" to evacuate Dutch people in Lebanon

Oct. 1 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands reported this Tuesday that it will use “military resources” to evacuate Dutch citizens in Lebanon due to the increasingly “uncertain” situation in the country, the scene of repeated Israeli bombings and a ground raid this morning.

“We will actively help the Dutch leave the country through repatriation using military resources. The Netherlands will provide military air transportation in the coming days,” Dutch diplomacy has stated on its social media profile, where it notes that efforts are also made to facilitate departure from Lebanon on commercial flights.

Thus, the Dutch authorities have called on the Dutch population to register on an official list to facilitate the process. Those who are already registered will receive updates on the evacuation process.

Meanwhile, the Dutch Embassy in Beirut remains “open and ready to help” those citizens who require it, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Netherlands could thus join other European nations such as Germany or Portugal, which have already repatriated their citizens to Lebanon due to the delicate situation in the country, the scene of continuous Israeli bombings against the Shiite militia party Hezbollah, and which this morning has suffered a land incursion from the south.
