September 30 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Russian authorities have condemned this Monday the death of Hasan Nasrallah, leader of the Lebanese Shiite militia party Hezbollah, in the bombings carried out on Friday by Israeli forces against the south of Beirut, the capital of the country, in an act that Moscow has been described as “murder”.
The Kremlin spokesman, Dimitri Peskov, reiterated during a press conference his “strong condemnation” and expressed that Russia “considers that these actions significantly destabilize the situation” throughout the Middle East.
Likewise, he has emphasized that this type of “indiscriminate bombings on residential areas of Lebanon cause a large number of victims”, which “leads to a humanitarian catastrophe” without a doubt, “just as happens in the Gaza Strip “, according to Russian media.
“These consequences, of course, cannot leave us indifferent and are a cause of our deepest concern,” Peskov said.
Hezbollah has confirmed in recent days the death of Nasrallah and numerous senior officials of the group’s military branch, amid the intensification of attacks by Israel during the last two weeks, which leave hundreds of dead and thousands of wounded in Lebanese territory.
The resurgence in hostilities is part of the clashes for nearly a year, after Hezbollah attacked Israeli territory a day after the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other Palestinian factions. , which led Israel to unleash a bloody offensive against the Gaza Strip.
