Russian anti-aircraft defenses shot down last night 125 Ukrainian drones on seven regions of the country and the Sea of Azov, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported today, and according to the governor of Belgorod, Vyacheslav Gladkov, one of the attacks in that region left one dead and eight injuredfive of whom were hospitalized.
According to the military note, 67 unmanned devices were destroyed over the Volgograd region and another 18 over the Rostov region. 17 drones were also neutralized in Belgorod and another 17 in Voronezh.
In addition, anti-aircraft defenses shot down three drones over the Sea of Azov, one in the border region of Kursk and another in Bryanskconcludes in an official statement.
The leader of Voronezh, Alexandr Gusev, reported for his part that an unmanned device fell on a residential complex after being demolished. At the same time, he assured that, according to preliminary data, the incident has not caused any victims.
It is about one of the most massive drone attacks that Ukraine has launched in recent months. The previous one was carried out on September 1, 2024 with more than 150 unmanned devices.
According to the new Russian nuclear doctrine, presented this week by President Vladimir Putin, Russia can respond with nuclear weapons in case of a massive attack with conventional weapons, including drones.
