The tablet market seeks to conquer designers, creatives and music lovers

What did Lenovo present?

The company presented the Tab Plus, an 11.5-inch tablet that integrates eight JBL speakers into its structure, which, in the brand’s words, makes it ideal for “music lovers.”

The speakers are located at the back of the device, where it is slightly thicker. The brand put it to the test in an open space with background noise and still the sound could be clearly distinguished without saturation, this is because in addition to the eight speakers, it includes four array tweeters and four balanced woofers and offers 26W of sound clear stereo.

This device has a 2K screen with TUV certification, which guarantees low blue light emission, particularly practical for readers.

Lenovo also explained that its tablet plans to be useful for creative people if used with its Sleeve Picasso Pen,

The Tab Plus is now available in Mexico for a starting price of 5,699 pesos.

Huawei Tablets

The Chinese technology company launched two tablets on the market: MatePad 12 X and the MatePad Pro.

The first is an ultra-thin tablet (only 5.9 millimeters) designed for younger generations due to its “fresh design” and color. It has a 12-inch screen with a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits, this is particularly useful to continue viewing the device even in sunlight.

According to Huawei, this device is also capable of eliminating about 99% of light interference, which makes it easier on the eyes.

With creatives in mind, the MatePad 12X simulates writing on paper and includes the Huawei M-Pencil to draw or write on it.

The price on the market ranges from 11,999 to 13,999 pesos depending on its storage capacity (8 or 12 GB of RAM).

On the other hand, the MatePad Pro’s greatest attraction is its screen, a 12.2-inch Tandem OLED FullView designed with nano-level pixel stacking technology, which means it offers high brightness and contrast.

According to Huawei, the PaperMatte version is reinforced with anti-glare technology that eliminates 99% of ambient light interference. It also has magnetron nano-optical layers, which work to reduce the reflectivity of the screen. With this, the brand promises “clear and eye-pleasing images even in direct sunlight.”

Like its launch companion, the MatePad Pro includes the M.Pencil, which offers more than 10,000 levels of pressure detection to make strokes feel more real.

It is available in the Mexican market from 19,999 to 21,999 pesos.

According to the consulting firm The Ciu, in Mexico, tablets reached an adoption of 26.4% at the end of 2022 among people aged 5 years or older, with a total of 31.8 million active devices.

Statista points out that a factor related to the increase in demand in the tablet market is the popularity of online education. The consulting firm points out that in 2024, revenue in the tablet market in Mexico will amount to 800 million euros (about 893 million dollars).
