On September 3, 2024, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) held the webinar “Foreign Direct Investment in Latin America and the Caribbean 2024: Brazil in focus.” During the day, the results of the annual report “Foreign Direct Investment in Latin America and the Caribbean 2024” were presented, with an analysis of the dynamics of FDI flows at the global and regional level, highlighting the case of Brazil, the largest recipient. of FDI in the region.
The event was attended by Helena Brandão, Investment Manager of the Brazilian Investment Promotion Agency (APEX), and Claudio Amitrano, Substitute President of the Applied Economic Research Institute (IPEA), both Brazilian experts on the subject. The specialists shared their analysis on how to strengthen capacities to attract more foreign investment and maximize its positive effects on the economy, in addition to highlighting best practices in public policies for this purpose.
