Last July, Xiaomi unveiled the Mix Flip in China, its particular commitment to foldable mobile phones with a modern design. clamshell or shell. Today, taking advantage of the special event held in Berlin, it has confirmed its availability in Europe, where it can already be purchased.

The Xiaomi Mix Flip is a high-end folding screen mobile phone that arrives to compete with models such as the Galaxy Z Flip6, although with some details that make it particular. The main one, a huge external screen that makes it look more like the Motorola RAZRwhich allows it to display widgets and notifications more clearly than others. According to Xiaomi, it supports “more than 100 popular apps.”

Protected by a toughened film dubbed C8+ (which Xiaomi cryptically describes as a “custom material,” implying it’s not entirely its own), this display offers a high resolution, 120Hz, and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, putting it on par with many large-format displays.

Inside, the Mix Flip features a 6.86-inch flexible display with identical features, but with 2912 x 1224 pixel resolution. Like the outer display, it connects to a chipset Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with 12GB of RAM, so its performance should not differ from that of many 2024 flagships.

The photographic performance also seems remarkable. Complementing the internal camera for selfies (completely dispensable, given its design) we find a dual-sensor system with the Leica seal that is made up of a 50 MP Light Fusion 800 sensor and a floating optics telephoto lens with identical resolution.

The Xiaomi Mix Flip is priced at 1,299 euros and can be purchased now from regular retailers.
