September 26 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The death toll from the new wave of bombings launched by the Israeli army against Lebanon throughout the day has risen to 70, according to the latest figures provided by the Lebanese authorities.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health has reported that at least 400 people have been injured in Israeli attacks during the day, according to the television channel Al Manar, linked to the Shiite party-militia Hezbollah.
In recent weeks, Lebanon has seen thousands of communication devices explode, leaving dozens dead and thousands injured, in an incident blamed on Israel; and has later suffered “targeted bombings” against several cities in the country, including the capital, Beirut, which have also left hundreds dead.
The escalation of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah, a group backed by Iran that wields significant military and political clout in Lebanon, has raised fears that the conflict could spread to the Middle East.
