Lady Gaga surprises and announces a new album, "Harlequin"for this Friday

( ) – Pop superstar Lady Gaga announced on her social media on Tuesday that she will release a new musical project just 72 hours after her statements. It is “Harlequin,” an album with 13 previously unreleased songs inspired by her interpretation of the character of Harley Quinn in the film “Joker: Folie à Deux,” directed by Todd Phillips.

The film “Joker: Folie à Deux” is distributed by Warner Brothers which, like , is part of Warner Brothers Discovery.

The New York singer, actress and songwriter shared on her X and Instagram accounts some fragments of the songs from “Harlequin” along with the phrases “Still Not October” (“it’s not October yet”), “Moondust Gets everywhere” (something like “moon dust is everywhere”) and “No Ducttape, No Mission” (approximately “without duct tape, there is no mission”).

Gaga —winner of 13 Grammy Awards and the Oscar for Best Original Song in 2019 for “Shallow”— announced just a few weeks ago that in October 2024 she would present the first single from a new album, currently titled “LG7” and scheduled for release in February 2025. However, to the surprise of “little monsters” —the name by which her fans are known—, the singer and businesswoman will release new music much earlier than expected and with a sound that, for now, veers towards a darker place, with acoustic and electric guitars always present.

“There is a lot of pain associated with this adventure […] “And when I start exploring that pain, I can bring out another facet of my art. When I’m here in this studio, I’m relaxed and I’m able to face my demons, and the extraordinary thing is that… that’s music. I’m able to hear it back,” Lady Gaga explained in a recent interview with Vogue magazine.

The film “Joker: Folie à Deux” will be released in theaters on October 4, but the artist has already visited some of the theaters where it will be screened to interact with fans, take photos and even hand out popcorn.
