After five long years of waiting, Drag Race Thailand returns for its highly-anticipated third season, bringing the glamour, drama and artistry of drag back to the screen. Fans of the show around the world have been eagerly awaiting this moment since the end of season two in 2019, when Angele Anang was crowned the winner, cementing her place as one of the biggest stars in Asian drag.

The official announcement of the series’ renewal was made in October 2023, sparking a wave of excitement among fans of the format, who not only celebrate the return of the show, but also the return of Pangina Heals as host and main judge. Pangina, one of Thailand’s most iconic and recognized drag queens, has earned respect for both her charisma and talent, as well as her role in the growth of the drag scene in Southeast Asia. Alongside her, the names of the 11 new queens who will compete for the title of the third season have been revealed, each bringing an explosion of unique personality and style.

The queens who will fight for the throne

The line-up of contestants is diverse and full of promise. From different parts of the country, these queens will face off in a series of creative, performance and fashion challenges to prove who has what it takes to become Thailand’s next drag superstar. This season’s contestants are Benze Diva, Frankie Wonga, Gawdland, Gigi Ferocious, Kara Might, Nane Sphera, Shortgun, Siam Phusri, Spicy Sunshine, Srirasha Hotsauce and Zepee.

In the official introduction video, titled Meet the Queens, each of the contestants revealed their entrance outfits, many of them inspired by traditional elements of Thai culture and fused with the extravagant drag style that characterizes the show. These queens not only stood out for their creativity in fashion, but also for the diversity of their styles and personalities, which promises a competition full of surprises and memorable moments.

Drag Race Thailand: Untucked

As in previous seasons, fans of the show will also be able to enjoy Drag Race Thailand: Untucked, the spin-off show that showcases some of the most intense, funny and dramatic moments behind the scenes. In this space, the queens relax (or not so much) after the weekly challenges and vent tensions that are often not seen on the main stage. Untucked is known for offering a more intimate look at the interactions between the contestants, where friendships, rivalries and deeper conversations about their lives and personal experiences are explored.

One of Thailand’s most iconic and recognizable drag queens, Pangina has earned respect for both her charisma and talent, as well as her role in the growth of the drag scene.

This return marks an important moment for Thailand’s drag community, which has seen significant growth and acceptance in recent years. Drag Race Thailand has been instrumental in bringing visibility to the local drag scene, showcasing not only the talent and passion of its performers, but also opening a space for conversations about diversity, inclusion and culture in the region.

Without a doubt, this third season promises to be a journey full of creativity, spectacular fashion and, as always, great emotions.
