Hezbollah's number two announces "a new phase" in the confrontation with Israel

September 22 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Naim Qassem said Sunday that the group has entered “a new phase of reckoning” with Israel and warned that despite the latest attacks the organisation has grown stronger.

“We have entered a phase of open reckoning, where we continue the battle to support Gaza, attacking our enemies from where they least expect it,” Qassem said during the funeral of Ibrahim Akil, leader of the elite Raduan Forces, who died in Friday’s attack on Beirut.

Qassem has denounced that these are “war crimes” committed by Israel and has pointed out that among the victims there are civilians, including women and children, Lebanese media reported. He has thus criticised the “massacre” of the attack in Beirut, in which 50 people died.

In any case, Hezbollah has been “strengthened” and the “Lebanese support front” will continue its fight until the war against Gaza is stopped. “The inhabitants of northern Israel will not be able to return to their homes because we will continue our attacks” and the number of displaced people will even “increase.”

“We will not leave the battlefield without victory. We are prepared for all military possibilities,” Qassem said before praising the “determination” of the group’s members.
