The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported on Saturday an attack on Gaza City that killed “terrorist” Muhamad Mansur, a senior Hamas intelligence officer.
This was confirmed by the Israeli military authorities on their website, where they emphasized that the attack was carried out against an area used by Hamas members as a “command and control complex” where there used to be a school.
“This command and control complex has been used by Hamas terrorists to plan and carry out operations against the IDF and the State of Israel,” the Israeli Armed Forces said.
The Army has also said that in preparing for the attack, “many measures were taken to reduce the possibility of harming civilians,” which is why “precision weapons, aerial surveillance and additional intelligence information” were used.
“The terrorist organization Hamas systematically violates international law, brutally exploiting civil institutions and the population as human shields for terrorist acts,” Israel has stressed.
Hamas launched a series of attacks on Israeli territory on October 7, killing 1,200 people and kidnapping another 240. Israel then launched a military operation in response in Gaza, which has already left nearly 41,400 dead.
