After four months of negotiations with the simulation peripherals manufacturer Endor AG, these have come to a successful conclusion and Corsair has announced the definitive agreement with the company to acquire the Fanatec Sim Racing brand and product line.
Fanatec has a catalogue of all kinds of components and peripherals for the racing simulation market, with products such as professional-grade steering wheels, levers, pedals or simulation cockpits. Their products play in a very different league to that of the typical “mainstream” steering wheels or levers.
Following the acquisition, Fanatec’s headquarters will remain in the German city of Landshut and will retain all Endor AG employees who worked on the brand’s products. In fact, the team will continue to operate to launch new products.
The financial amount and other conditions have not been disclosed, but when negotiations began, Corsair assured that the operation would include financing for Endor AG’s monetary needs, as well as a restructuring of the company’s $70 million debt.
In fact, it appears that Endor AG fired its founder in March and he attempted to regain control. They have now declared bankruptcy and the company will be liquidated.
