The Emmy Awards kicked off Sunday in Los Angeles with the epic series about feudal Japan “Shogun” poised to break all records at the television equivalent of the Oscars. Just as the show got underway, “Shogun” already has the most awards-winning season of any production in Emmy history, with 14 wins in minor categories at another ceremony held last weekend.
