Death toll rises to one and 43 injured in Russian airstrikes in Kharkiv

The updated death toll from Russian airstrikes on Kharkiv provided by the Ukrainian authorities has risen to one person dead and 43 more injured, including four minors.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine said that a body had been discovered under the rubble of a destroyed apartment on the ninth floor of a residential building. Seven buildings and 20 cars had been damaged, according to a statement posted on its Facebook page.

The military governor of the province, Oleg Sinegubov, who confirmed the death, added that the authorities are working on identifying the victim, although he indicated that she is a woman.

Earlier in the day, Sinegubov said that a total of four bombs had been dropped from the air. One fell in Kharkiv and the other three in towns in the region. Bombings were also carried out in the Sumi and Donetsk regions.
