From Pemex to Infonavit, he is Octavio Romero Oropeza

Romero Oropeza is an agricultural engineer from the Higher College of Tropical Agriculture in Cárdenas, Tabasco.

The Tabasco native will replace Carlos Martínez Velázquez at Infonavit.

Octavio Romero was born on January 20, 1959, and was appointed CEO of Pemex in December 2018.

Before joining the oil company, Romero Oropeza was a senior official in the government of the Federal District, when Andrés Manuel López Obrador was head of government. In addition, he chaired the State Committee of the PRD in Tabasco and was a federal deputy from 1994 to 1997. He was also the founder of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena).

The next general director of Infonavit was a professor at the College of Sciences and Humanities of Tabasco and at the Autonomous Juárez University of Tabasco.
