Konami wants to release Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, but this stops them

The game was released on October 24, 2023

Snake fans got a tremendous treat when Konami released Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 in October last year. Since then, the community has been wondering if the developer is already working on the second volume.

As you probably know, this bundle of games allowed players to have an easy way to play several installments of the franchise. However, the bad news is that it didn’t include all of Snake’s installments and fans are already looking forward to trying out more of his adventures in another collection.

Given this, there have been several rumors that those responsible for the saga already have their sights set on a volume 2 that could include games such as Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom PainHowever, this remains unconfirmed.

Now, details have been shared of a video in which the producer of Metal GearNoriaki Okamura, answered a variety of questions. One of them was about the possibility that a new Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 and revealed what is complicating the progress of this project:

“If we look at potential titles… yes, that’s right. We’ve had HD ports of Metal Gear Solid 1, 2 and 3. Oh, sorry, not really 1, but the other 2. But most of the titles released after those don’t have a pre-existing HD port that we could use. Some are in HD, but they would all be really big titles, and that brings its own set of problems. So with all these factors to consider in the lineup, anything along the lines of what’s in it, or questions like how long will it be in development, when will it come out… It’s going to be a while until we can get a clear picture, but when we do, we’ll let you know.

As you may have noticed, it seems that Konami has not yet decided which games they will add to the collection and they are still unsure of the available options, so fans better be very patient.

We’ll keep you updated on any new developments related to the franchise and will let you know when they are due. In the meantime, you can read more Metal Gear news at this link.
