One of Gisèle Pélicot's rapists imitated her husband and also drugged his wife to rape her

One of more than 50 men tried in the case of Dominique Pélicot, who drugged his wife, Gisèle, with tranquilizers so that others would rape her while she was unconscious, is accused of repeating the same pattern with his own partner.

“It is unforgivable”the daughter of this man lamented this Wednesday before the Criminal Court of Vaucluse, Jean-Pierre M.63, who is accused of having also given his partner tranquilizers and then having sexual relations with her, several times in the company of Dominique Pélicot.

The daughter, who found out about everything when her father was arrested, said she did not understand anything and was convinced that her father would not have organised these practices with his own wife if he had not known Dominique Pélicot.

In any case, he stressed that “what he is accused of is very serious, inexcusable“, and that he hopes to have “answers” during this process, which began on September 2 and should end one or two weeks before Christmas.

Life imprisonment

Jean Pierre M. admitted at the beginning of the process the facts for which he is accused and, according to one of the police officers in charge of the investigation, he considers that he deserves the life imprisonment.

The judges will have to determine their responsibility in this case, the center of which is Dominique Pelicot and the files he kept and which were seized from him in September 2020 when he was arrested for having Recorded under the skirts of some women in a supermarket from the city of Carpentras.

In those files there were hundreds of photos and videos made by Pélicot in which his wife (they divorced in August) appeared drugged and sexually abused by dozens of men, among whom the 50 who are in the dock have been identified.

Dominique Pelicot missed the hearing again on Wednesday for health reasons, after making a brief appearance limping and using a cane, and it remains to be seen whether he will finally be able to testify on Thursday, after his statement initially scheduled for Tuesday was postponed.

His lawyer, Beatrice Zavarro, He told reporters that if he were to testify on Thursday, he would only do so on “the facts of which Jean-Pierre M. is accused” and in which Dominique Pelicot is implicated.

“Anything that has to do with Dominique Pélicot’s personality will not be raised tomorrow,” the lawyer clarified, given the expectations generated by the case.
