Noticeably thinner than previous generations (10% compared to the Series 9) and slightly lighter (there’s a new titanium case that’s almost 20% lighter than the old steel ones), the Apple Watch Series 10 has a new quad-core processor and, almost more importantly, a much-improved display.
According to Apple, the new Apple Watch Series 10 benefits from a slightly larger OLED panel that provides up to 30% more active surface area than directly preceding models. Not only does it allow you to get more out of the watchOS 11 interface, adapted for the occasion, but it is also apparently more efficient and has a faster refresh rate in always-on mode, which now updates every second.
Charging, meanwhile, is done using a new, larger coil, which speeds up the process. Apple claims that 15 minutes is enough to provide eight hours of “conventional” use, and 30 minutes leaves the battery at 80%.
The software has also undergone significant changes. Beyond the small aesthetic touches of watchOS 11, the operating system has also incorporated new aquatic training with water depth and temperature measurement. Also new health functions, such as sleep apnea notification.
This feature is possibly one of the most advanced in its segment, monitoring the respiratory rhythm to alert the user when it notices interruptions out of the ordinary. In this way, people who suffer from this health problem without having it diagnosed can tackle it in time, avoiding scares and improving the quality of their sleep.
The Apple Watch Series 10 is now available for pre-order in Spain with a base price of 449 euros for the aluminium model and 799 for the titanium model, both with a 42 mm strap and without data connection. From there, and as is usual in the range, the sky is the limit.
