September 6 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Israeli army killed a 13-year-old Palestinian girl on Friday during an intervention to quell a series of clashes between Israeli settlers and residents of the town of Qaryout, south of the West Bank city of Nablus.

The minor has been identified as Bana Amjad Bakr, who was allegedly shot in the chest by one Israeli military officer, according to information collected by the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said several of its teams treated a seriously injured girl after clashes broke out between Palestinians and settlers in the town. However, Bakr died shortly after being taken to a local hospital.

Settler attacks by Israeli settlers are common in the West Bank and have increased in scale and intensity since 7 October, when the Israeli offensive against the Gaza Strip began in response to attacks by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) against Israeli soil.

With Bakr’s death, the number of Palestinians killed in the West Bank since the start of the offensive has risen to 692, with nearly 40,900 Palestinians now dead in the Gaza Strip.
