Huawei's new TruSense sensor system improves accuracy for monitoring health and fitness indicators

September 3 (Portaltic/EP) –

Huawei has presented its New TruSense sensor system that, with over 60 health and fitness indicatorshas been designed for improve “accurate” data monitoringsuch as heart rate, blood oxygen and blood pressure, which the company will incorporate into its new generation of wearable devices.

At an event held in Dongguan (China), the company has announced its latest developments regarding its wearable devices, among which it has shared its advances in collecting information on users’ health and fitness.

Chinese technology company enters the wearables sector eleven years ago and since then, he claims to have Distributed over 150 million devices to datemanaging to group more than 520 million registered users in its Huawei Health application.

Following this line, Huawei has highlighted its current position in this sector since, according to data collected by the market analysis company IDC, during the first quarter of 2024 occupied the first place globally in the number of devices in the ‘wearable’ segment.

In this framework, the technology company has stressed that in recent years it has worked on innovation and development to create new technologies focused on its wearable devices and, as a result, it has presented his new TruSense sensor system.

Specifically, the TruSense system is a New mechanism designed for health monitoring which, according to Huawei, “marks a new milestone in making precise, science-based health and fitness technology available to users.”

As specified in a statement, this new system is capable of measuring more than 60 health and fitness indicatorscovering six of the main systems of the human body. Thus, it allows to control the heart rate and the data of the autonomic nervous system, which, through an algorithm, allows to generate a assessment of the user’s well-being and stress levels.

Likewise, this new system is also capable of identify nuances such as skin color differences of the users, the doll sizethe temperature changes and irregular fluctuations in heart rate caused by physical exercise.

These new capabilities are a breakthrough in the sector, as they allow taking into account data that in previous generations of wearable devices “represents an impediment” to accurately collect health data, Huawei said.

THREE NEW MEASUREMENT INNOVATIONS

With the TruSense system, the company’s new generation of wearable devices will have three innovations, which are complemented by improved intelligent algorithms and self-development.

First, they employ a new Multi-space Optical Path Structure, which improves the homogeneity of the optical path of the sensors by more than 15 percent for collect a wider range of data.

A new design is also used. Multi-region Optical Path, which allows the light sources to be reorganized to improve the signal from the sensors and, thus, solve the problems caused by irregular blood vessels in the skin when collecting data.

Thirdly, Huawei has pointed out that the sensors incorporate a Rear Glass Darkening Tip Technology. As he explained, this glass effectively isolates the transmission and detection paths, thus increases measurement quality by up to 20 percent.

MORE PRECISION IN MONITORING

Together, these new technologies improve the accuracy of monitoring basic indicatorssuch as heart rate, blood oxygen and respiratory rate. For example, Huawei claims that the Heart rate accuracy has increased to more than 98 percent.

Likewise, the Blood oxygen monitoring accuracy has exceeded 50 percenteven achieving precise control during nighttime sleep or in high altitude environments. For its part, the Heart rate variability (HRV) has improved its accuracy by more than 50 percent.

In fact, Huawei has highlighted that, with these innovations, the precision of basic indicators, such as heart rate, blood oxygen or blood pressure, have been Certified by authorized bodies in the sector.

With all this, the technology company has indicated that the new TruSense sensor system has been designed to Help users enjoy the benefits of a “healthy body and mind” already “follow healthier lifestyles,” as detailed by the president of Huawei’s Health and Smart Wearables Product Line, Rico Zhang.
