Fans of Capcom’s fighting games are in for a treat, as some of the genre’s best titles are making a comeback in some seriously eye-catching collections; however, the announcement raised eyebrows in the community for a very good reason: the releases would be conspicuous by their absence on Xbox. Luckily, players on Microsoft’s consoles will be able to join in on the fun after all.
In mid-June, the Japanese company revealed Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classicsa package that includes 7 classic titles. Shortly after, in August 2024, he shared the first trailer for Capcom Fighting Collection 2another collection that will allow players to enjoy 8 retro video games.
The announcement of both projects generated a lot of excitement, but there was some bad news: they will not be coming to Xbox One. The Japanese company refrained from revealing a reason behind this decision, but reports point to alleged problems with the MT Framework graphics engine as the cause.
After weeks of uncertainty, there is finally good news for console players. Microsoft who hoped to revisit these classics through the new collections.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is also coming to Xbox in 2025
Through a post on the franchise’s official account, the Japanese company revealed that, after technical discussions with Microsoft, they managed to get Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics yes it will come to Xbox One. The only bad news is that fans will have to wait until next year.
Luckily, there is still some very exciting news. The Japanese company revealed in another publication that Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is also on its way to Microsoft’s console. This version is scheduled for release in 2025, although it is unknown whether it will arrive at the same time as the ports for Nintendo Switch, PC and PlayStation.
Capcom has promised to reveal more information later, so we’ll have to wait and see what the rest of the details are. The post seems to suggest that the late announcement of the game versions is indeed a sign of Xbox of both collections was due to technical problems.
Capcom Fighting Collection 2 includes a total of 8 classic games, including crossover deliveries with SNK. The package will include an online section with rollback netcode for all titles and a training mode, as well as art galleries, music and other extras.
