At least eleven people have died and thirteen others have been injured on Tuesday after a bus ran over a group of people in front of a school in the Chinese city of Taian, located in the east of the country, authorities have confirmed.
Police in Dongping County, Shandong Province, said the incident occurred at around 7:30 a.m. local time after the driver “lost control” of the vehicle, which was rented to transport students.
He also stressed that one person was in critical condition among the injured, so the death toll could rise, as reported by the Chinese news agency Xinhua. The driver has been arrested while investigations continue.
