Apple plans Remove USB-A ports on new Mac mini computer with an M4 processor, which will be replaced by five USB-C ports, as well as an Ethernet port, HDMI and a headphone jack, and is also working on a new lower-end Magic Keyboard, according to Gurman.
The American technology company continues working on updating its upcoming Mac computers, that will incorporate the family of M4 processorsand are currently being tested to ensure compatibility with third-party applications.
As it was known at the beginning of August, among the new Macs, those from Cupertino are developing a new Mac Mini computer with M4 chip, which will arrive at the end of this year and will be the Smallest desktop PC manufactured by the company.
Following this line, as shared by Bloomberg analyst and journalist, Mark Gurman, in his latest Power On NewsletterIn addition to reducing its size, the new Mac Mini computer will eliminate USB-A ports offered by the current version of the Mac Mini. Instead, Apple will include five USB-C ports and will complete its connectivity with a HDMI port, one Ethernet port and a headphone jack.
In addition to all this, sources related to the company have clarified in statements to Gurman that the computer power supply will be internal.
With all this, according to the analyst, it is expected that the new Mac mini computers will not be announced until about a month after the iPhone was introducedwhich is scheduled for next Monday, September 9.
That’s because vendors will begin shipping Mac mini units with the standard M4 chip in early September, while the version with the M4 Pro chip will ship in October, it said in a statement.
NEW MAGIC KEYBOARD
On the other hand, Apple is also developing a New keyboard for lower-end iPad Magic Keyboardwhich will be released at mid next year 2025 for “entry-level” iPad devices or the new iPad Air.
The tech giant launched its latest Magic Keyboard in May this year alongside the new iPad Pros, which featured new features such as a metal palm rest, a larger trackpad and dedicated function keys. Now, Apple plans to release a simpler version for standard iPads.
Specifically, sources related to the project have indicated to Gurman that this version will not have the most expensive componentssuch as the metal palm rest. However, yes will offer some new features.
