Russia attacked several Ukrainian regions for the second day in a row this morning, causing at least two deaths in the city of Krivi Rig from central Ukraine and two others in Zaporizhia (southeast), according to regional authorities.
Local media reported explosions in kyiv and other regions of the country. In the case of the capital, some of the explosions could be heard from the city centre.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, which reports the attack in real time, Russia has perpetrated this new attack with Iranian kamikaze drones Shahed and with missiles of different types.
Ukrainian air defenses destroyed five missiles and sixty drones in the early hours of Tuesday out of more than ninety devices of these two types launched this morning by Russia against territory of Ukraineaccording to the report published by the Ukrainian Air Force.
Among the missiles launched by Russia are three hypersonic missiles Kinzhal which could not be intercepted, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
Drones
15 drones and several missiles were destroyed near kyiv, the head of the military administration of the Ukrainian capital said., Sergui Popko.
Russian forces have already launched 127 missiles and 109 drones on Monday, most of which were intercepted by Ukrainian air defences.
Missiles and drones that were not shot down hit electricity and gas infrastructure in various regions of the country, forcing Ukrainian authorities to reintroduce emergency power outages.
The attack, which targeted the Ukrainian energy system, also claimed the lives of at least four civilians in as many regions of Ukraine.
