PAKISTAN
Early this morning, at least 23 people from Punjab were killed in Balochistan’s Musakhail district after gunmen pulled passengers off trucks and buses and shot them after checking their identity. It is the second attack by separatist militants on people from Punjab this year; there were nine fatalities in April.
PHILIPPINES
The Philippines has confirmed Two more cases of mpox virus infection (monkeypox) of the milder variety of clade 2, bringing the number of infections to three. The newly confirmed cases are a 37-year-old man from Metro Manila who developed a rash on his body last week and a 32-year-old man from the capital who had skin lesions on his body.
Gaza – Israel
Hamas rejected the new conditions imposed by Israel Gaza ceasefire talks in the Egyptian capital Cairo have been halted, further casting doubt on the chances of a breakthrough in the latest US-backed effort to end 10 months of war. A Hamas delegation left Cairo on Sunday after meeting with mediators.
NORTH KOREA
On Saturday, Kim Jong Un visited the Drone Institute of the Academy of Defense Sciences and witnessed a “successful test” of the drones, which “correctly identified and destroyed designated targets after flying along several predetermined routes,” the Korean Central News Agency reported. North Korea also unveiled new kamikaze drones, some of which look similar to those used by Russia in the photos released.

Flash floods caused by monsoon rains in Thailand The landslide has killed 22 people and injured 19, according to authorities. Some provinces are even more at risk and 30,000 families are insecure. A Russian couple and nine migrant workers from neighbouring Myanmar are among the 13 dead in a landslide on the southern island of Phuket.

Ukrainian armed forces used Neptun missiles fired from the Odessa area to hit a tanker in the port of Kavkaz in Krasnodar region that was due to unload fuel on a railway line, causing a major fire that also blocked the passage from the Kerč bridge, one of the main Ukrainian military targets.

Georgian Prime Minister Iraklij Kobakhidze has insisted on predicting that in the autumn parliamentary elections only the Georgian Dream and the opposition National Movement will overcome the 5% barrier to enter parliament, but the latter will be declared “unconstitutional” and there will be “only one democratically elected party” left in the country.
