Aug. 28 (EUROPA PRESS) –
At least ten people have died and several others have been injured on Wednesday after a bus and a taxi collided in western Uganda, authorities have confirmed, although they do not rule out that the death toll could rise in the coming hours.
Western Rwenzori police spokesman Vincent Twesige said the incident occurred at around 4am local time and that all those killed were occupants of the taxi, the Daily Monitor reported.
He said that initial investigations suggest that the taxi left its lane and collided head-on with the bus, although the reason for this manoeuvre has not yet been clarified. Some survivors have claimed that the driver was going fast and attributed the situation to fatigue.
