According to a report from insider and content creator “Glitching Queen” (via Insider Gaming) Jason Blundell, Treyarch producer recognized for his work on installments of Call of Duty from World at War until Black Ops 4 (including its Zombies modes) has returned to PlayStation to work on a new project. In this regard, unofficial information indicates that the creative is participating in a new science fiction video game together with Bungie that has nothing to do with franchises such as Destiny either Marathon. Apparently, Sony has put Bungie to work on something new but under its control.

As for this video game, the report says that it is “an action game set in a new science fiction and fantasy universe” that was already considered in Bungie’s plans for some time.

Jason Blundell’s supposed arrival on the project comes after Deviation Games, the studio he formed in 2020 and which was set to make an exclusive game with Sony, was closed this year. It should be remembered that Jason Blundell left this team in 2022 and it is rumored that several of the creatives were hired by PlayStation to work on different projects.

On the other hand, this new Bungie video game would be the first one made without the company Destiny Bungie has autonomy, as rumors have emerged in recent weeks that after the collapse of its business model and constant losses, Sony is not willing to tolerate more projects that are not under its control. In this regard, a report by Jeff Grubb indicated that PlayStation Studios and Sony Interactive Entertainment, led by Hermen Hulst, began a process of taking over Bungie in order to end the company’s autonomy, trying to avoid a bigger disaster.
