Aug. 2 (Portaltic/EP) –
Google Cloud will make it easier for customers to accelerate their adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and build enterprise AI applications powered by the company’s sources of certainty with the Spanner Graph solution.
Spanner Graph is a feature that combines the capabilities of ad hoc graph databases with Spanner, which is deeply integrated with Vertex AI, Google Cloud’s unified, managed AI development platform.
In this way, clients can generate text embedded in the nodes and edges of the graph with large language models (LLMs), enriching the graph, and can then perform a vector search to retrieve information from the graph in the semantic space, as reported at Next Tokyo’24.
Google also announced pure text search and vector search in Spanner. Spanner’s new approximate nearest neighbor vector search is based on Google’s ScaNN algorithm, which indexes and searches vector embeddings to power AI-assisted semantic searches.
Spanner is now offered in a variety of modalities (Standard, Enterprise and Enterprise Plus), allowing customers to choose the functionality that best fits their needs and budget.
Additionally, Google has also announced the arrival of Gemini in BigQuery, where it is generally available. It offers assistance throughout the entire data journey: from data preparation, exploration and analysis, to governance and security,
Gemini is also available in Looker, albeit in preview, where it offers assistance with formulas and slide generation.
