Braided Solo Loop Strap: 99.00 euros. Casio WS-B1000: 59.90 euros. The first is an accessory for an Apple smart watch. The second is a full digital clockbut with a series of functions that are more than interesting for those looking for a wrist device with a classic design and, above all, from a brand as iconic as Casio.
The Japanese company has decided to update some of its products so that they can offer fitness tracking at a very attractive price. These are fairly subtle changes. The devices maintain their ‘retro’ feel, but now also have Bluetooth capability to connect to a smartphone and even sensors that record steps.
An old-school watch, but with modern functions
At first glance, the WS-B1000 looks like a regular Casio watch. We are looking at a robust and simple watch with matte finish and LCD screen. In addition to telling us the time, the device has a 1/100 second stopwatch with a memory of 200 laps, a calendar and an alarm. But it also hides a secret.
Inside, this model has a sensor capable of recording the steps taken by the user. The screen also has space for this functionality. The top part shows the progress of the previously set step goal, as well as a graph with levels showing the steps taken in the last 7 hours.
Casio has also included in its watch step reminders. These warn you via a visual and audible indication if the number of steps is too far from the set goal. This is a device that is presented as an interesting combination of classic design and accessory for an active lifestyle.
The Casio WS-B1000 also features Bluetooth connectivity. This will allow us to pair the device with a smartphone. Not only will we be able to view the step count from the mobile app, but we will also be able to make various settings without touching the watch, such as setting alarms or synchronizing the time.
Casio WS-B1000 Price and Availability
As we noted above, the Casio WS-B1000 is available at a price of 59.90 euros (shipping not included) at the Casio Spain store. It is part of the Casio Timeless Collection and is available in black and blue.
