Aug. 1 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Health authorities in the Gaza Strip, controlled by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced on Thursday that the death toll from the offensive launched in October by Israel against the Gaza Strip, in response to the attacks perpetrated by the Palestinian armed group on Israeli soil, in which 1,200 people died, has now risen to 39,480.
The Gaza Health Ministry said in a statement that the latest tally shows the number of injured now at 91,128 after the count of victims recorded during the past 24 hours in the Palestinian enclave.
He said that the “Israeli occupation” has committed “two more massacres against families in Gaza”, which have left another 35 dead and 55 wounded, who have been taken to various hospitals.
However, authorities have warned that these figures could be much higher given that hundreds of people are estimated to be trapped under the rubble in the Gaza Strip.
