ECLAC will update its growth projections for the Latin American and Caribbean economies this year

The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) will announce next Tuesday, August 23, its Economic Survey of Latin America and the Caribbean, 2022: investment dynamics and challenges to drive a sustainable and inclusive recoveryone of the main annual economic reports (flagship) of the institution, where it takes stock of the economies of the region in recent months and updates its growth estimates for each of the countries this year.

The document, published periodically by the United Nations regional commission since 1948, summarizes the performance of the regional economy in 2021 and analyzes its evolution for 2022. In its 74th edition, it will especially examine the role of investment for a sustainable recovery and inclusive.

The report will be presented at a hybrid press conference (face-to-face and virtual) at the agency’s headquarters in Santiago, Chile, at 11:00 am local time (UTC/GMT -4:00).

This situation has translated into important challenges for macroeconomic policy. The second part of the document examines the dynamics of gross public and private capital formation in the countries of the region.
