Belarusian President Aleksander Lukashenko met with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Valaam Orthodox Monastery in the Russian Republic of Karelia on Thursday to discuss bilateral relations and regional security, among other issues.
The two leaders held a closed-door meeting after visiting the religious center, but no further details were released, the Belarusian news agency BelTA reported.
Putin and Lukashenko have travelled to each other’s countries in recent months amid tensions with NATO over the war in Ukraine.
