Apple releases iOS 18 beta 4: new features and how to download it on iPhone

What is the iOS 18 release date?

iOS 18 arrived at Apple’s well-known WWDC, where, apart from other operating system updates, the new features that will be coming to this version for iPhone were announced, and one of the main protagonists was artificial intelligence.

Powerful, intuitive, personalized, integrated, and private. AI and language models come to the iPhone to revolutionize the way you interact with this phone and all its applications: writing assistance, creating images, editing photos, deleting emails, or smart responses in the Mail app.

Although it was presented on June 10, iOS 18 is not expected to arrive until September of this year, so for now we have to make do with the betas that those in Cupertino are releasing to be able to see what new features they are integrating into the operating system.

It is now confirmed that Apple has released iOS 18 beta 4 for registered developersmoving one step closer to final release. The public beta is expected to be available next week.

Here are all the new features in iOS 18 beta 4

While previous iOS 18 betas have already introduced several new features, such as Home Screen and Control Center customization, RCS support, and the InSight feature for Apple TV, Beta 4 brings some more changes:

  • Redesigned iPhone Mirroring Alert – The alert that appears when you turn on iPhone Mirroring on the lock screen now has a more modern design.
  • iCloud shortcut in Settings: On the main page of the Settings app, there is now a shortcut that takes you directly to iCloud options.
  • New CarPlay wallpapers: Added eight new wallpapers to CarPlay.
  • Modified Stocks app icon – The Stocks app icon has received a slight redesign, with a more subtle gradient.

For the moment, it seems that the topic of artificial intelligence in iPhone is relegated to the background and it is unknown when the tests will begin. However, Please note that iOS developer betas may be buggy and unstableso it is not recommended to install them on your primary device. If you want to try it, make sure to do so on a secondary device. To do so:

  • Sign up in the Apple Developer Program.
  • On your compatible iPhone, go to Settings, General, Software Update, Beta Updates.
  • Choose iOS 18 Developer Beta.
  • Go to the previous page and wait a few seconds for it to refresh.
  • Click Download and Install.
  • Connect your device to a charger and wait for it to install.

Please note that the iOS 18 public beta should be available next week for those who have signed up for Apple’s public beta program.
