Unity rejects the purchase offer by AppLovin



Recently there was an offer to buy Unity by AppLovina company known for mobile marketing and analytics platforms like AppDiscovery and SparkLabs that offered 17,540 million dollars to acquire Unity, the well-known game engine.

However, this offer was made on the condition that Unity cancel $4.4 billion purchase of ironSource, a rival company to AppLovin, something AppLovin probably hoped would work. Nevertheless, this has not been soso ironSource will become part of the Unity umbrella, while AppLovin will have to face a rival perhaps stronger than until now.

So while AppLovin’s trick didn’t work out, the purchase by Unity is going ahead and will probably finish closing in the fourth quarter of this year, being one of the last high-value businesses in which the company has entered.

In the past week, Unity itself signed a multi-million dollar contract to work with the United States Department of Defense despite the numerous complaints related to this association with military matters, something in which many workers do not want to be involved.
