A balloon with garbage sent by North Korea falls into the compound of the South Korean Presidential Office

Jul 24. (EUROPA PRESS) –

South Korea’s Presidential Security Service said Wednesday that a balloon containing rubbish sent by North Korea has crashed into the grounds of the country’s Presidential Office after Pyongyang launched a new wave of such devices in response to Seoul’s propaganda campaign.

“An investigation by the chemical, biological and radiological response team has concluded that the objects posed no danger or contamination, and have been collected,” the Security Service said, according to South Korea’s Yonhap news agency.

Earlier, the Joint Chiefs of Staff reported that Pyongyang had launched numerous balloons containing rubbish towards Gyeonggi Province, which surrounds Seoul, the country’s capital.

South and North Korean forces have continued their propaganda battle on the border over the weekend, with Pyongyang’s airspace becoming the scene of new balloons loaded with garbage, which Seoul responded to by deploying huge loudspeaker systems used to broadcast songs by prominent South Korean pop groups such as BTS, as well as news from the country.
