One person killed in drone attack on ferry in port in Russia's Krasnodar region

Jul 23. () –

At least one person was killed and several others injured on Tuesday in a drone attack by the Ukrainian army on a ferry in a port in the Russian region of Krasnodar, Russian authorities said.

Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratiev said in a message on his Telegram account that “drones attacked a ferry in the port of Kavkaz” located on Chushka Point, while speaking of “another terrorist attack by the Kiev regime.”

“Unfortunately, there are injuries and one death among the crew and port employees,” he said, adding that the fire caused by the attack “is under control.” “I extend my sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims,” he concluded.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have fired hundreds of drones and missiles at Krasnodar and other regions of Russia since the start of the war, which broke out in February 2022 following the order to invade Ukrainian territory given by Russian President Vladimir Putin, after nearly eight years of conflict between the Ukrainian Army and pro-Russian separatists in the Donbas region (east).
